IDHR takes and investigates charges of Sexual Harassment in Education. Sexual harrassment charges can be filed against an elementary, secondary or higher education institution and/ or institution.

Illinois Virtual Course Catalog
The Illinois Virtual Course Catalog offers supplementary virtual courses for advanced learning, credit recovery, and more, from multiple approved providers. All courses are taught by Illinois licensed instructors and aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards. Public school districts that enroll students in courses from the catalog can request reimbursement from ISBE, subject to appropriations by the General Assembly.

Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy:
Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy is a quasi-military structured education program for Illinois youth 15 1/2 to 18 years old. It offers a safe residential environment with a life skills and character-building curriculum for an opportunity to help change their future for the better. LCA uses a holistic approach to help cadets become responsible and productive members of their communities. Cadets have the opportunity to gain positive values, receive job skill certifications, and academic credentials, and learn life skills to help them better prepare themselves. They use skills in the 12-month Post Residential Phase as they follow their life plan, work with their mentor, and continued support from the academy. LCA is a voluntary program. Cadets are not court-ordered or placed in the program. It is a choice they make to change the direction of their lives.

ISBE supports professional learning by showcasing in-person and virtual professional development opportunities available across the state. Teachers, and school support services personnel must complete professional development to renew their license regardless of the number or types of degrees held.

Safe 2 Help Illinois
Safe2Help Illinois is available 24/7, and at no cost to all school districts in the state. In the absence of a trusted adult, students can use a free app, text/phone, or the website (Safe2HelpIL.com) to share school safety issues in a confidential environment. Information obtained by Safe2Help Illinois will remain confidential to ensure student privacy and to protect the integrity of the program. This program is not intended to suspend, expel or punish students; rather, the goal is to encourage students to “Seek Help Before Harm.”

Student Loan Default Prevention/Debt Management
ISAC was previously a loan guarantor under the Federal Family Education Loan Program, a program that ended in 2010. ISAC continues to work with those who borrowed under the program.
